Creating a SlideShare Presentation for Richard Kimber
What’s the key to a successful book launch? An attractive front cover and an extraordinary blurb? Nope. It’s all down to gaining exposure.
For any book to become successful it has to be able to reach a large audience. But when you’re relying on a couple of tweets, a few Facebook shares and the goodwill of family and friends, the prospect of promoting a book suddenly seems like a daunting, almost impossible task. It’s all too common for key announcements to be lost among the turbulent seas of social media, and there are only so many steps you can take to circumvent this.
With that in mind, we approached author Richard Kimber about the possibility of creating a SlideShare presentation to showcase his new book, ‘The Unforgettable Customer Experience‘. The presentation would provide potential customers with a visual insight into the book’s contents, and help Richard reach a whole new audience.
SlideShare is the world’s largest community for sharing presentations and was purchased by the popular professional networking site LinkedIn in 2012. It has since become one of the top 100 most-visited sites in the world.
To ensure Richard’s presentation stood out, we began by researching a compelling headline for the presentation that would reinforce the benefits of the book while providing useful tips to business owners.
This involved using a headline analyzer tool and plenty of in-depth discussions to determine the right title for the presentation to ensure the presentation would be optimised for search engines.
Working closely with Richard, we cherry picked a selection of crucial tips and reworked them to fit the presentation’s new script and structure. The next step was to research the customer service industry to gain a greater insight into the types of stock photography images we should use, and which would have the most desired effect.
With any script for a presentation, we always try to add to the message by looking for relevant quotes or information to add.
Once we had rewritten Richard’s initial content, the next stage was to highlight the areas we felt most beneficial to Richard’s target audience and determined how and where they would fit into the presentation.
When working on a presentation design, it’s important to ensure that the content is the best it can be as ultimately, this will benefit the final presentation regarding structure, flow and impact.
Richard’s SlideShare presentation has been viewed over 9,000 times and remains a persistent source for potential readers to find out about Richard’s book. A quick Google of Richard’s name will evidence this fact.
